JOURNAL INFORMATION
EDITORIAL PROCESS
Jurnal Sistem Cerdas is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, accountability, and ethical scholarly publishing. Authorship must accurately reflect the intellectual and scientific contributions of individuals involved in the conception, design, implementation, analysis, and reporting of research.
The journal adopts authorship principles based on internationally recognized publication ethics guidelines, including recommendations from the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT).
All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial scholarly contributions to the submitted manuscript and must accept responsibility for their contributions and the integrity of the published work.
Authorship must not be granted solely on the basis of academic position, institutional authority, research supervision, administrative responsibilities, financial support, or personal relationships.
Jurnal Sistem Cerdas adopts the four authorship criteria recommended by the ICMJE. To qualify for authorship, an individual must meet all four criteria:
Criterion 1: Substantial Scholarly Contribution
The individual must have made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the research, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of research data.
For research in artificial intelligence, computer science, and intelligent systems, contributions may include developing a novel computational method, designing experimental frameworks, creating or curating research datasets, implementing core algorithms, or conducting substantial scientific analyses.
Criterion 2: Manuscript Development or Critical Revision
The individual must have participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
Contributions must extend beyond routine proofreading, formatting, or minor language corrections.
Criterion 3: Final Approval
The individual must have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript before submission and publication.
All authors must agree to the manuscript's scientific content and its submission to Jurnal Sistem Cerdas.
Criterion 4: Accountability for the Research
The individual must agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work and ensure that questions concerning the accuracy or integrity of any part of the research are appropriately investigated and resolved.
Authors should understand the contributions of their co-authors and have confidence in the integrity of those contributions.
Individuals who do not meet all four criteria should be acknowledged appropriately rather than listed as authors.
To promote transparency, Jurnal Sistem Cerdas encourages authors to describe their individual contributions using the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT).
The taxonomy comprises 14 contributor roles:
| Contribution Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Conceptualization | Development of research ideas, objectives, and overall scientific concepts. |
| Methodology | Design or development of research methods and computational procedures. |
| Software | Programming, software development, algorithm implementation, and testing. |
| Validation | Verification of research results, models, experiments, and reproducibility. |
| Formal Analysis | Application of statistical, mathematical, computational, or analytical techniques. |
| Investigation | Conducting research activities, experiments, and data collection. |
| Resources | Provision of datasets, research materials, computing resources, or infrastructure. |
| Data Curation | Data preparation, annotation, organization, maintenance, and documentation. |
| Writing – Original Draft | Preparation and writing of the initial manuscript. |
| Writing – Review & Editing | Critical review, revision, and improvement of the manuscript. |
| Visualization | Preparation and presentation of figures, graphs, diagrams, and research visualizations. |
| Supervision | Scientific oversight, academic guidance, and leadership of research activities. |
| Project Administration | Coordination and management of research planning and execution. |
| Funding Acquisition | Acquisition of financial support for the research project. |
A contributor may perform multiple roles, and a particular role may be shared by several authors.
CRediT role assignments do not independently establish eligibility for authorship. All listed authors must satisfy the journal's authorship criteria.
The order of authors must be determined collectively by the research team based on scholarly contributions and mutual agreement.
Jurnal Sistem Cerdas does not prescribe a universal formula for determining author order. All authors must approve the final sequence before manuscript submission.
The corresponding author serves as the primary contact between the research team and the editorial office.
The corresponding author is responsible for:
Ensuring that all listed authors meet the authorship criteria.
Obtaining approval from all authors for the submitted manuscript.
Providing accurate author names, affiliations, and contact information.
Completing submission declarations and required documentation.
Communicating editorial decisions and reviewer comments to all co-authors.
Coordinating manuscript revisions and responses to reviewers.
Ensuring that disclosures regarding conflicts of interest, funding, ethical approval, and data availability are complete.
Maintaining communication with the journal before and after publication.
The corresponding author must not make substantive changes to the manuscript or authorship information without the knowledge and agreement of the other authors.
Jurnal Sistem Cerdas prohibits authorship practices that misrepresent scholarly contributions.
Gift or Honorary Authorship
Listing an individual as an author solely because of academic rank, institutional position, professional influence, personal relationships, or the expectation of reciprocal benefits.
Guest Authorship
Including an individual primarily to increase the perceived credibility, prestige, or likelihood of acceptance of a manuscript without sufficient scholarly contribution.
Ghost Authorship
Omitting an individual who meets the authorship criteria, including researchers or professional writers who made qualifying contributions.
Coercive Authorship
Pressuring researchers, students, or collaborators to include an individual who does not meet the authorship requirements.
Authorship for Payment
Offering, selling, purchasing, or exchanging authorship positions without legitimate scholarly contributions.
All suspected authorship misconduct may be investigated by the editorial team in accordance with applicable publication ethics procedures.
Individuals who contribute to the research but do not meet all authorship criteria should be recognized in the Acknowledgments section, subject to their permission.
Such contributions may include routine technical assistance, administrative support, language editing, general academic supervision, provision of research facilities, and funding support.
The nature of the assistance should be described accurately.
Acknowledgment must not imply endorsement of the manuscript by individuals who have not agreed to be named.
Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission must be formally communicated to the editorial office.
The request must include:
A clear explanation of the proposed authorship change.
The scholarly justification for the change.
Written agreement from all existing authors.
Written agreement from any author being added or removed.
An updated author contribution statement, where necessary.
The editorial team will evaluate the request before approving any modification.
Authorship changes are not automatically permitted after manuscript acceptance.
For published articles, justified authorship corrections may require a formal correction notice. Unresolved authorship disputes may be referred to the relevant institutions for investigation.
All authorship-related disagreements should be addressed by the research team before manuscript submission whenever possible.
When disputes arise during editorial processing, the journal may suspend consideration of the manuscript until the issue is resolved.
The editorial team may request supporting documentation, author contribution statements, or institutional clarification.
Jurnal Sistem Cerdas does not assume responsibility for determining institutional employment rights, ownership disputes, or research collaboration agreements.
Where appropriate, authorship disputes will be handled in accordance with COPE guidance.
Jurnal Sistem Cerdas recognizes that artificial intelligence tools may support research activities, programming, data analysis, language editing, and manuscript preparation.
However, artificial intelligence systems, including generative AI tools and large language models, cannot be listed as authors or co-authors, because they cannot assume the responsibilities and accountability required of human authors.
Authors must remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, reliability, and integrity of all scientific content generated or assisted by AI tools.
Authors must disclose substantive use of generative AI tools in manuscript preparation, including the name of the tool, its purpose, and the nature of its contribution, in accordance with the journal's disclosure requirements.
The use of AI tools to fabricate research data, generate misleading results, invent references, manipulate experimental findings, or misrepresent scientific contributions is prohibited.
Authors must ensure that confidential information, unpublished research data, and personal information are handled appropriately when using third-party AI services.
Jurnal Sistem Cerdas permits equal-contribution statements where two or more authors have made comparable substantial contributions to the research.
For example:
"Author A and Author B contributed equally to this work."
Equal-contribution statements must be approved by all authors and accurately reflect their respective scholarly roles.
The journal may also recognize multiple corresponding authors where supported by its editorial and publication system.
Authors must provide accurate personal and institutional information during manuscript submission.
The following information should be supplied:
Full author name.
Institutional affiliation.
Department, faculty, or research unit, where applicable.
Country.
Institutional or professional email address.
ORCID iD, where available.
Affiliations must accurately reflect the institutional relationships relevant to the research.
Authors must not provide false institutional affiliations or misleading academic credentials.
All authors share responsibility for ensuring that the submitted manuscript complies with applicable research ethics and publication standards.
Authors must ensure that research findings are reported accurately, supporting evidence is reliable, and relevant methodological limitations are disclosed.
Authors must cooperate with reasonable editorial requests regarding research data, ethical documentation, experimental methods, conflicts of interest, and potential integrity concerns.
If a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after publication, authors must promptly notify the editorial office and cooperate in issuing an appropriate correction, expression of concern, or retraction when warranted.
Authors are encouraged to include an Author Contributions statement in their manuscript.
Example:
Author Contributions: A.A. was responsible for conceptualization, methodology, and supervision. B.B. contributed to software development, data curation, and formal analysis. C.C. conducted validation, visualization, and investigation. A.A. and B.B. prepared the original manuscript draft. All authors participated in reviewing and editing the manuscript, approved the final version, and agreed to be accountable for the work.
The statement must accurately reflect the contributions of the actual authors and should be updated when substantial changes occur during manuscript revision.
By submitting a manuscript to Jurnal Sistem Cerdas, the corresponding author confirms on behalf of all co-authors that:
All listed authors satisfy the journal's authorship criteria.
Every author has made a genuine and substantial scholarly contribution.
All authors have reviewed and approved the submitted manuscript.
All authors agree with the final authorship order.
No eligible author has been deliberately omitted.
No individual has been included through honorary, guest, coercive, or purchased authorship.
All authors accept responsibility for the scientific integrity of the work.
Any relevant conflicts of interest and substantive AI-assisted contributions have been appropriately disclosed.
